Workers’ protest over wage hike leads to unrest, violent face-off in Noida

A demonstration by a large number of factory employees demanding an increase in wages turned violent in Noida under Gautam Buddha Nagar district on Monday (April 13, 2026) as protestors set fire to vehicles and pelted stones over long-pending demands and alleged exploitation.

A large number of workers from various industrial units in the area gathered at multiple locations, including Sector 62, pushing for their demands, which escalated into a face-off as some participants allegedly pelted stones and set a vehicle on fire. Incidents of protests by factory workers were also reported from neighbouring Greater Noida.
