Ahmedabad: As World Brain Tumour Day is set to be marked on Monday, the Gujarat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI) has treated 1,327 patients over the past five years.Dr Shashank Pandya, director of GCRI, said that new-age techniques have helped reduce complications in such surgeries, along with managing conditions like cavernous haemangioma and hemangioblastoma.
“Those eligible can receive treatment free of cost under the PM-JAY scheme,” he added.GCRI officials said that people should undergo check-ups if they experience symptoms such as persistent and severe headaches, recurring seizures, confusion or brain fog, double vision, and occasional vomiting or nausea.
