During the June 30th episode of WWE RAW, it was revealed that wrestler Chad Gable is scheduled for surgery due to a recent injury. Rumors of him being injured and taking a break have been ongoing for quite some time now.
And with Gable gone, with the surgery putting him out of action for quite some time in the future, fans also thought that another wrestling character - El Grande Americano - who is yet to take off his mask on camera, will be out as well. But that does not seem to be the case.
Chad Gable is absent, but El Grande Americano is not
After the recent announcement about Chad Gable on the latest RAW episode, fans believed that his taking time off meant that El Grande Americano would also be absent from the ringside. But much to the surprise of many, El Grande Americano made a surprise appearance in a backstage segment with American Made. This blew the minds of WWE fans, who until now, were fully convinced that Chad Gable and Americano are one and the same.
It seems like in Chad Gable's absence, who until now was using the El Grande Americano mask, another wrestler, who was seen lurking about in recent backstage segments, will be taking over the duties of the current WWE Speed Championship, and continue to defend the title. Yes, Ludwig Kaiser, it's you.
Who is behind the El Grande Americano mask?
After the Adam Pearce and Chad Gable backstage segment in RAW, where they revealed that Gable would take some time off for his surgery and recovery, WWE came up with another backstage segment to introduce the brand new El Grande Americano.
Ivy Nile, who is now the leader of American Made, was seen talking to Jackie Redmond about her preference to be in the battle royal at Evolution, a man who suspiciously looked like Ludwig Kaiser, showed up wearing the El Grande Americano outfit and mask. And now, it will be on Kaiser's shoulders to carry the WWE Speed Champion title in the foreseeable future, while Chad Gable takes a much-needed break from wrestling.
