WWE NXT: The Culling Win Women’s Tag Team Contender Match, Tavion Heights Triumphs

The WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida, hosted an action-packed episode of the WWE NXT on Tuesday, September 9.

The latest episode of the WWE NXT on Tuesday, September 9, was held at the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida as an action-packed night that featured some of the finest wrestlers of the NXT brand, taking part in multiple exciting duels, including women’s and men’s tag team clashes, an interesting flag match and more.

Here is how this week’s WWE NXT episode panned out.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender’s Elimination Match

A much-anticipated Women’s Tag Team Championship No.1 contender’s elimination face-off was one of the highlights of this week’s NXT episode. The Culling pair of Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley faced off against the ZaRuca duo (Zaria & Sol Ruca) and Fatal Influence – Fallon Henley & Jazmyn Nyx – in the most exciting triple-threat contest that entertained the packed crowd in Orlando. Nyx, Paxley and Zaria started off the contest before successive taps brought the other three wrestlers into the clash. Fortunes shifted back and forth in a captivating main event battle where, eventually, The Culling came out triumph after Izzi Dame executed a sitout powerbomb on Henley and bagged victory for her side.

Ethan Page Faces Off Tavion Heights – Flag Match

In an exciting tussle for the Flag Match, Ethan Page came up against Tavion Heights. Heights managed to thwart Page’s multiple attempts to reach the flag in the beginning. Page soon responded by slamming Heights down from the top rope, laying him out. The two wrestlers refused to concede easy ground to their opponent and made successive attempts to close out their victory. However, it was Heights at the end who suplexed Page off the top rope and climbed up his corner to take the flag for his triumph.

NXT Tag Team Championship Match

Next up on the night was the NXT Tag Team Championship clash between DarkState (Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin) and the duo of Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. DarkState gained the ascendancy of the contest following an intervention from their allies, Cutler James and Saquon Shugars, as they outnumbered the Hank-Tank pairing despite some help from Joe Hendry. DarkState unleashed a series of heavy moves on their opponents before rolling up Tank inside the ring for a successful pinfall.

WWE Women’s Speed Match

Lainey Reid and Faby Apache battled out for the WWE Women’s Speed contest. Apache played aggressively from the word go, hitting a dropkick on Reid straight after the ring. She followed it up with a headscissors and a cannonball off the apron on Reid, who bounced back strongly later in the contest and nearly got a pinfall following successive strong moves. Soon after, Apache threw a Bridged German Suplex at Reid and climbed up the ropes for a jump, but she was distracted by Natalya. Taking full advantage, Reid kicked her opponent in the face and bagged an impressive victory.

Je’Von Evans Up Against Josh Briggs

Je’Von Evans and Josh Briggs took on each other in a men’s singles contest where Evans entered the beast mode at the start and threw a Frog Splash at his opponent to go for the first near-fall. Fortunes shift back and forth in the contest, where Briggs forged a strong comeback and soon took Evans down with a clothesline. Not long thereafter, Briggs also packed a decisive punch against his flying opposition and went for a final pinfall to secure his win.
