The June 29 episode of Monday Night RAW took place at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It presented the fallout of Night of Champions and kicked off the road to WWE's next Premium Live Event, SummerSlam. The show saw two huge returns and set the tone for epic matches at the Biggest Party of the Summer, and featured some exciting in-ring action between top WWE stars.
What happened in the opening segment of Monday Night RAW?
King Oba Femi kicked off the show to decide which champion he wanted to face at SummerSlam. However, he was interrupted by the return of Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman together. Lesnar delivered some fiery words and took him down with a low-blow and F-5. As Lesnar and Heyman were leaving, Femi got up and challenged him to a match. Lesnar accepted for SummerSlam and wanted it to be Hell in a Cell.
Rey Mysterio vs. Ethan Page
All-Ego Ethan Page got a chance to square off against WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio in a singles match on RAW this week.
The weeks of tensions exploded in this bout and closed out with Mysterio hitting a 619 and a splash to pin Page for the victory.
Joe Hendry vs. Austin Theory
Before the match, Joe Hendry and the new WWE World Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits, performed a special concert to mock The Vision. Following that, an explosive singles bout kicked off between Hendry and his opponent, Austin Theory. The match was exciting to witness and ended with Hendry hitting the Standing Ovation to cover Theory for the three-count.
LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso
This was a singles match between LA Knight and Jimmy Uso. It was an enthralling encounter until Jey Uso interfered and his distractio allowed Jimmy to roll up Knight and score the win. However, after the match, Solo Sikoa showed up and once again attacked a Bloodline member in Uso. Knight saw the opening and took down Jey with a BFT.
Raquel Rodriguez vs. Maxxine Dupri
The women's match saw Maxxine Dupri battle Raquel Rodriguez in a singles showdown. It was a short match as Raquel imposed her dominance despite Dupri's effort and ended it with a Tejana Bomb to pick up the win.
JD McDonagh vs. Chad Gable
It was a back-and-forth encounter between Chad Gable and JD McDonagh. However, the closing moments saw Danhausen being chased by Dominik Mysterio ringside. This distraction allowed Gable to apply the ankle lock to McDonagh and make him submit.
What happened in the last segment of WWE RAW?
Roman Reigns came out with Jacob Fatu in the closing segment of RAW. However, he was interrupted by the arrival of his longtime rival and former Shield brother, Seth Rollins. The Visionary said that Reigns has the title he never lost and spoke about their history.
