Opening segment with Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, and IYO Sky
Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio opened the show. Morgan gloated about embarrassing Nikki Bella last week and demanded a rematch for the WWE Women's World title that she never got. IYO Sky came down to confront her. When Morgan asked her to hand over the title, Sky tossed it to her and took her down, along with a kick to Mysterio as well.
Asuka vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Ivy Nile vs. Stephanie Vaquer
This was the final Queen of the Ring Fatal 4-Way opening round match and also saw the return of Asuka to the ring after a year away due to injury. The match was a thrilling encounter in which Rhea Ripley interfered to prevent Raquel Rodriguez from winning, delivered a Riptide on the outside, and tossed her back. This opened the window for Asuka to execute a hip attack and pin her to advance in the tournament.
Gunther & Goldberg confrontation
Gunther came out to celebrate his World Heavyweight Championship win over Jey Uso last week.
Amidst his address, Goldberg made his shocking return to confront him. He reminded him of their Bad Blood altercation that happened in Atlanta, Georgia, and vowed to end it in the same city in a match against him on July 12 at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.
AJ Styles vs. JD McDonagh
This was a singles action that saw the veteran AJ Styles go up against a young star in JD McDonagh. The match did not last very long as a timely Styles Clash by The Phenomenal One led to his victory against McDonagh.
Dominik Mysterio tried to attack him, but Styles evaded it. Moreover, as Finn Balor came into the mix, Styles escaped and left with the Intercontinental title belt.
Liv Morgan vs. Kairi Sane
This was a singles match between the duo. At one point, Morgan was dropped to the mat and suffered a shoulder injury. This led the referee to call off the match and declare Kairi Sane the winner.
Sheamus vs. Rusev vs. Bronson Reed vs. Jey Uso
This was the final King of the Ring Fatal 4-Way opening round match.
It was a highly exhilarating showdown that saw huge chaos go down. Bron Breakker tried to interfere on behalf of Bronson Reed. Sami Zayn tried to stop him but was taken out by Breakker. As Reed was going for the Tsunami, LA Knight appeared and pushed him off the top rope. Jey Uso delivered a spear, followed by two Uso splashes, to win and advance in the tournament.
After the match, Seth Rollins came down to the ring and looked to inflict damage on Uso, only for Cody Rhodes to make his way to the ring. As the show ended, it was official that Rhodes vs Uso will take place next in the semi-finals of the King of the Ring tournament. Also read: Vince McMahon’s short but powerful words after Maven Huffman’s injury
