WWE Raw Results: Roman Reigns, CM Punk Face Off; Oba Femi Lays Out Brock Lesnar

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar electrify WWE Raw in San Antonio. Reigns battles CM Punk, Lesnar faces Oba Femi and AJ Lee retains her title against Bayley.

The latest episode of Monday Night Raw saw storylines continue with great excitement and intensity in the WWE universe on March 16 at the Frost Bank Centre in San Antonio, Texas. The build-up to WrestleMania 42 heated up with the arrival of stars Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, while fans were treated to a series of high-intensity clashes.

Roman Reigns arrived and went face-to-face with his WrestleMania rival CM Punk in a promo segment designed by the WWE officials. Reigns was on the offensive from the word go and threw a series of insults towards Punk, letting him know he still has no respect for him.

As the Original Tribal Chief exited the arena, Punk called him back, promising to beat him and earn his respect in Las Vegas.

The other marquee appearance for the night saw The Beast Incarnate go hammer and tongs on Seth Rollins’s cronies just as he threatened The Vision group inside the ring.

The tables turned on Brock Lesnar when the arena went dark and fans saw Oba Femi take him down, placing his foot on the legend’s chest. Femi then pointed to the WrestleMania sign, confirming who Lesnar will face at the WWE PLE.

The action-packed night continued with the men’s singles contest between the two Americanos: the Original El Grande and El Grande. The two masked men fought valiantly to go one-up on each other.

The Original soon regained control, fending off interference from Bravo. Rayo then arrived and slid a metal plate into El Grande’s mask, but El Grande recovered and rolled up the Original to bag the pinfall win.

The AJ Lee versus Bayley Women’s Intercontinental Championship game then took center stage. As Lee strived to retain her crown, she looked totally determined from the word go and nullified various moves by her opponent.

Bayley fought back well after a comeback, but Lee prevailed, locking her opponent in a Black Widow submission and forcing her to tap out.

The WWE also hosted a men’s Intercontinental Championship game for the night between Penta and Dragon Lee. The two wrestlers recognised the stakes and gave a strong account of each other in a riveting contest.

Lee hit Penta with the Enter the Dragon but couldn’t bag a three-count. Penta bounced back well, landing a Mexican Destroyer to claim the win.

There were two exciting women’s singles contests also held at this episode of Raw, putting Maxxine Dupri against Nattie and Stephanie Vaquer against Raquel Rodriguez. While Nattie came out on top in her tussle after extracting a submission from Dupri, Vaquer eventually overcame Rodriguez for her triumph.
