New Delhi: Xiaomi has recently confirmed that its global debut of its latest Bluetooth tracker, the Xiaomi Tag, and now, finally, Xiaomi has entered the tag tracker race. Xiaomi will launch the device on February 28 at the MWC event in Barcelona. This upcoming Xiaomi Tag weighs 10g and measures 7.2mm thick.
This device will use a CR2032 coin battery, which offers an estimated battery life of one year. Xiaomi has especially designed the tracker to help users quickly locate lost items, including keys, wallets, and bags.
This tracker also supports both Apple’s Find My network and Google’s Find Hub ecosystem by making it more compatible with both iOS and Android devices. It also uses Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC for location tracking, but does not include ultra-wideband technology.
A UWB-enabled version is reported in development, and it might debut in the future. On February 28, the event will also feature other product launches. Xiaomi also plans to debut with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra device, the Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds, and the Xiaomi Ultra Slim Magnetic Power Bank.
Xiaomi has also showcased its latest AIoT products during the upcoming event. Xiaomi Tag has already appeared on several European retailer websites ahead of its official debut. The device is priced at $21 (roughly Rs 1,900), and if the users buy a pack of four, it will cost for $70 (roughly Rs 6,365).
Xiaomi is now focusing by positioning the product for the budget-conscious users who want reliable tracking without paying the higher prices of competitors like Apple’s AirTag, Moto Tag, or Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag.
