Yatri Suvidha Divas programme inaugurated at Belagavi Airport

BJP MP Jagadish Shettar inaugurated a Yatri Suvidha Divas programme at the Belagavi Airport in Sambra by planting saplings on Monday.

Airport Director S. Thyagarajan, officials and members of the Aviation Consultative Committee and others were present.

Department of Kannada and culture organised Kala Nadige Nimma Balige at the Belagavi Airport in association with the Airport Authority of India and the State government.

Mr. Thyagarajan inaugurated the event. He said that such cultural programmes played an important role in introducing the country’s heritage and art to the common people.

Regional Commissioner Janaki K.M. appreciated the performances, including Veeragase and Bharatanatyam.

Deputy Director of the Kannada and Culture Department Vidyavathi Bhajantri said that there is a need to preserve and develop the rich art and culture of the country, especially to create awareness about rural folk arts.

Teams led by Bharatanatyam teacher Rekha Hagade and Satyanarayana of Nada Sudha Sugama Sangeet Academy presented performances. Goolappa Vijayanagara and others performed Veeragase.
