Across Haryana, the average maximum temperature rose by 0.3°C and remained 2.3°C above normal
Gurgaon: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 km/hour at isolated places across Haryana till June 24. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 37.3 degrees Celsius (°C) on Sunday.According to IMD data, the minimum temperature was 27.5°C, up 1.6°C from the previous day, while the maximum temperature was 0.8 degrees lower than Saturday. No rainfall was recorded in the city during the 24-hour period ending Sunday evening.The weather department said pre-monsoon activity is likely to persist over the region for the next few days. Forecasts indicate partly cloudy skies and chances of isolated thunderstorms, which are expected to keep temperatures in check despite daytime readings remaining above normal.Across Haryana, the average maximum temperature rose by 0.3°C and remained 2.3°C above normal. Rohtak was the hottest place in the state at 42.1°C, while Narnaul recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 22°C. Light rainfall was reported from a few locations, including Narnaul (5.5 mm) and Charkhi Dadri (4.5 mm).Within Gurgaon district, weather stations recorded similar conditions. Gurgaon KVK logged a maximum temperature of 37.1°C and minimum of 27.4°C, while the NorthCap University station recorded a maximum of 38°C and a minimum of 26.5°C.
IMD forecast suggests that Gurgaon is unlikely to witness any major rise in temperatures this week. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 36°C and 38°C, while minimum temperatures are likely to hover between 25°C and 27°C.Meteorologists said the ongoing pre-monsoon activity is providing relief from intense heat and helping prevent heatwave conditions from developing across the region.
