Yoga is India’s gift to world, says A.P. Governor

Officials at the Raj Bhavan practised yoga in the Durbar Hall as part of ‘Yogandhra’ programme on Tuesday. The session was organised by yoga guru Ramanand of the AYUSH department, along with his assistants and staff.

In a message, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer said that yoga is India’s gift to the world, developed over 5,000 years ago and practising it leads to the perfect harmony between the mind and body, man and nature.

The Governor appealed to the people of Andhra Pradesh to actively participate in the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations being held at Visakhapatnam on June 21 in large numbers and make it a grand success.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary to the Governor, M. Hari Jawaharlal, explained the importance of practising yoga asanas regularly. He said that yoga is beneficial for both physical and mental well-being, reduces stress and improves overall health.

Joint Secretary to the Governor P.S. Suryaprakash, Deputy Secretary to the Governor Raghu, officers and staff of Raj Bhavan also participated.
