Yoga, tourism promotion take centre stage at East Point Golf Club in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: Ahead of the International Yoga Day celebrations, a large-scale yoga programme was organised at the East Point Golf Club in Mudasarlova on Tuesday. The district administration had earlier conducted similar events at Rushikonda beach and within the Naval Dockyard premises to promote yoga and the tourism potential of the region.The event at the golf club received an enthusiastic response from people from various walks of life. Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat, district collector M Abhishikt Kishore, GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg, other district officials, tourism stakeholders and students participated in the programme and performed yoga asanas.Addressing the gathering, collector M Abhishikt Kishore said East Point Golf Club has emerged as one of the prominent golfing destinations in the country.

He said the Yogandhra programme was organised at the venue with the objective of promoting this outstanding tourist attraction.The collector announced that a massive yoga demonstration involving thousands of participants would be held on the beach road on June 21. He said yoga encourages a healthy lifestyle while also providing an opportunity to showcase tourist destinations to the world. On behalf of the district administration, he appealed to everyone to actively participate in the event.

Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat said it was a matter of great pleasure to organise a yoga programme at a magnificent venue such as East Point Golf Club. He said such initiatives were aimed not only at creating awareness about the importance of yoga but also at showcasing tourist destinations to a global audience.
