Adah Sharma on her most extreme roles | Exclusive

Adah Sharma lives by her rule: If a script doesn't mildly worry her family, it's not worth it—sharing moments when she pushed limits.

Q. So you know if I actually when I was researching about you I came across this one quote of you saying that if the script is not mildly concerning to your family then it is not worth doing according to you. Has there ever been a moment after the release of a movie where you thought yeah maybe I went too far with this one?

Adah: Mildly concerning yeah I'll actually tell you there was a Sunflower that I had done and I was concerned for myself when I read it.

I don't know if you watched the series Sunflower too.

You will be concerned for my mental health probably after watching it. But when I heard this script and they told me the character and they said you're perfect for this and I was like my god she's a serial killer, psychopath, scooping on people's eyeballs. You really think that's me? And this is just after Kerala Story where after that everyone told me you're going to play only sweet innocent girl roles because I was like a poor girl in Kerala Story. You know I was the victim here. I made everyone the victim and I'm like throwing all the uncles of the building also on my fingertips and like you know getting ransom from somebody and it's quite a role so I was like how am I going to do this? And I shared the dialogues in it are also extremely bold. I thought I mean I tell him the characters of a bad answer but they didn't want it to be cheap but the lines I mouth are pretty I don't know they were very explicit according to me because he says actually I'm not going to have sex with him but I just say it because it's a I mean lines like value.

So when I read that character I shared it with my mom because I was like how could you do this? You know convincingly this is so so yeah we were very concerned when I did Rita Sanyal also I'm seeing eight characters in it. I was very concerned as how I'm going to do it as I want to be different in each character. I don't want an overlap or with the accent or the voice or each character should not none of them should be Adah Sharma except that Rita Sanyal can be you know a little of me.So that way I have concerns with each thing like if I'm playing 1920 possessed my concerns I look like I should look like I shouldn't look like oh you know she's acting like she has those concerns I have before every.
