A 28-year-old man was found dead on the railway track between Maula Ali and Charlapalli on the main up line late on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as N. Nandaraj Goud, a driver from Godumakunta in Keesara mandal, Medchal district. Investigation revealed that Goud was staying with his sister and was struggling with alcohol addiction linked to family issues. Two days before the incident, he reportedly was drinking heavily and was upset after his mother scolded him.
The incident came to light around 11.40 p.m. near kilometre marker 204/7-9 when a special train (train no. OMS) was passing through the section. According to the Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP), on Monday night Goud walked from his sister’s home to the railway track before taking the drastic step.
The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examination before being handed over to relatives. A case has was booked and further investigations are under way.
