Youth abducted and assaulted in Tirupati

A youth was abducted and assaulted by rival gang members in Tirupati late on Tuesday.

The youth, Srinivas Yadav, was kidnapped by members of a rival gang on the Puthalapattu-Naidupeta highway on Tuesday night. He was pushed into a car and taken to a private property near Thondavada, where he was severely roughed up.

After coming to know of the incident, his friends rushed to the spot and rescued him. Srinivas was later admitted to a nearby hospital with bleeding injuries. As the abductors fled the spot, Tirupati Rural police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the gang members. Police suspect previous enmity between the two as the reason for the unfortunate incident.
