Youth empowerment remains at the core of Dravidian model government, says T.N. CM Stalin

Youth are the foundation of this nation and Tamil society; empowering youth and creating opportunities for them remain the primary mission of the Dravidian model government, said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday (August 6, 2025).

Speaking at an official event in Chennai, after handing over appointment orders to 2,538 youth under the Department of Municipal Administration and Water Supply, Mr. Stalin said through initiatives like Naan Mudhalvan, Tamil Pudhalvan, and Pudhumai Penn, the State government has been focusing on upskilling students and youngsters.

Apart from education and skill development programmes, the State government also focuses on creating job opportunities for the youth. Over the last four years, through recruitment boards like TNPSC, TRB, MRB, and TNUSRB, as well as various departments and public sector undertakings, the State government has provided jobs to 1,08,111 individuals, he said.

Through the Naan Mudhalvan initiative and job fairs conducted by the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, the State government has facilitated employment for 3,28,393 youth. Through job fairs organised by the Department of Labour and Employment, a total of 2,65,223 individuals have secured jobs in the private sector, Mr. Stalin said.

The State government has also created reservations in jobs for sportspersons who have excelled at national and international levels. This year, 84 such individuals have received jobs. Over the last four years, a total of 6,41,664 individuals have received employment opportunities through the State’s skill development training programmes, the Chief Minister said.

According to him, Tamil Nadu remains a leader in industrial growth in the country due to the peaceful environment and necessary infrastructure facilities in the State, coupled with the hard work and visionary plans of the State government. The State continues to be a top investment destination for Indian and multinational companies, he said.

In the last four years, through 941 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed across various sectors, the State has attracted investments worth ₹10.63 lakh crore, resulting in the creation of 2,30,856 jobs, he said, adding that his government will continue to support the youth of the State in skill development.
