Youth held on charge of sexual assault

The Kunnamangalam police on Saturday (April 25, 2026) arrested a 19-year-old engineering student accused of sexually abusing a girl multiple times on the promise of marriage. V.T. Abhinav was arrested following a petition filed by the survivor. Police sources said the girl was sexually abused at an apartment near Sarovaram Bio Park a few months ago and later taken to a house at Peringalam where the assault was repeated. They added that she later became pregnant.
