‘Yuva Sambrama 2025’, a vibrant cultural extravaganza designed for the youth, is all set to kick off here on Wednesday at the Open Air Auditorium, Manasagangotri campus.

Minister in charge of Mysuru district H.C. Mahadevappa will inaugurate the event at 4 p.m. Actors Yuva Rajkumar and Amrutha Iyengar are special invitees to the event.

As one of the most sought-after events among college students, the youth festival provides a platform for young talents to perform, entertain, and excel in various art forms.

Serving as the curtain-raiser to the cultural events organised as a part of the grand Mysuru Dasara festivities, which will officially begin on September 22, the Yuva Sambrama sets the celebratory tempo before the city turns into a hub of cultural fervour.

The event will be held from September 10 to 18, showcasing an array of performances ranging from dance, music, drama, and skits, to many other creative displays.

Importantly, participants are not limited to Mysuru district alone. Students from Bengaluru, Mandya, Virajpet, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, and several other regions will perform and compete, presenting their talents before a spirited audience, predominantly consisting of Mysuru’s youth.

Each college team will have a 6 to 10-minute performance slot, carefully allocated due to the large number of participating institutions. The detailed schedule of events for each day has already been published, and the Yuva Sambrama Sub-Committee has the task of ensuring that all participating teams get the opportunity to perform and celebrate throughout the week.

The event sets the perfect prelude to the grand Dasara celebrations, even as the Dasara festival committee, which is overseeing the events beginning from September 22, is leaving no stone unturned to bring entertainment for the people of all ages.

The Mysuru palace will host a series of grand music and dance performances featuring artists from across the country from September 22 to 29. Like every year, the Dasara cultural programmes at the palace are among the most awaited events, where artists of national and international repute perform before connoisseurs of music and dance against the majestic backdrop of the illuminated palace.

This year, the list of artists for the palace events has been finalised and released well in advance. However, the performers for Yuva Dasara — a hugely popular segment among the youth — are yet to be announced. The event is known for featuring top singers and musicians who are popular among the younger generation.

Considering the turnout of youth and others for the Dasara programmes, the organisers have shifted the Yuva Dasara venue to Mysuru outskirts. Last year, it was held on a large vacant plot near Sri Jwalamukhi Tripurasundari Temple in Uttanahalli locality close to the Outer Ring Road, with ample parking for the visitors. Same arrangement may be considered even this year by the district administration for crowd and traffic management.
