New Delhi: Google has recently introduced its latest AI features called as Ask in YouTube TV application by expanding the tool that was earlier being tested. The feature is especially designed to let the users to interact with the videos by using the voice, without leaving the screen. This latest Ask feature has seen by many Android, iOS and web users on their YouTube.
With this recent upgrade, Google is now expanding the same experience to the TVs, by enabling the users to ask questions about while streaming in real-time.
The users will see an Ask button below the video player on the supported TVs. When it is selected, it opens an AI panel on the side of the screen. The users can either choose from the suggested prompts or use their remote’s microphone to ask the question. The system will processes it in the background and it also shows the response on the screen.
This enables the users to continue by watching the video without interruption while getting it additional information. This feature will works similarly to how it going to functions on the mobile and web. It also uses the voice input via TV remote, by making it more easier to interact without typing.
The feature run on its Gemini AI models, it also pulls information from the YouTube as well as other online sources to generate answers based on the video context. The goal is to help the users to understand content better or explore related topics without switching applications.
The users are watching a music video can ask about the lyrics, while those who are watching podcast can request for summary or explanation.
If the users TV remote does not support the voice input, the users can still access the feature via suggested prompts available in the AI panel. These prompts enables them to get the basic information or recommendations without needing to speak.
Google has also added that on such devices, interaction with the tool will going to rely entirely on these on-screen options.
