The inspections and raids conducted at educational institutions managed by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy were politically motivated and aimed at silencing criticism of the State government, fellow MLC Lella Appi Reddy alleged on Sunday (June 21, 2026)
Addressing a press conference at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, Mr. Appi Reddy claimed that Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy had been specifically targeted for questioning the government on several issues, including alleged irregularities in the DSC teacher recruitment process, concerns raised by government employees, and allegations related to the supply of ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
He alleged that the coalition government was unable to effectively counter the questions raised by the YSRCP legislator both in the Legislative Council and in public forums and had therefore resorted to what he termed as “revenge politics.”
According to Mr. Appi Reddy, officials carried out inspections at six educational institutions run by Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy in Nellore district from Saturday evening (June 20, 2026) until late at night.
The YSRCP leader said the institutions had been functioning successfully for more than two decades, serving over 16,000 students and providing employment to nearly 500 teaching and non-teaching staff. He argued that targeting well-established educational institutions for political reasons would create uncertainty among students, parents, and employees.
Demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the DSC recruitment process, Mr. Appi Reddy said the government should welcome an independent inquiry if it was confident that no irregularities had occurred.
He also announced that YSRCP leaders would visit Nellore on Monday (June 22, 2026) to express solidarity with Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy.
