YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader, D. Rambabu, died of ill-health during the tour of party president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s to Ibrahimpatnam, on Friday.
Rambabu, who was Chillakallu village’s president, came to participate in a programme when Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visited the house of YSRCP leader and former Minister Jogi Ramesh.
The TDP activists reportedly attacked Ramesh’s house a few days ago.
Mr. Rambabu collapsed and he was rushed to a hospital nearby, where he was declared brought dead.
In a separate incident, a youth, identified as Bhargav, reportedly suffered injuries when the bike he was riding hit a road divider near Ibrahimpatnam. He succumbed to his injuries.
Traffic congestion
Traffic was disrupted on Vijayawada-Hyderabad National Highway, and at the Ibrahimpatnam Circle for some time when the YSRCP activists gathered on the roads in view of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tour.
