Former Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Adimulapu Suresh, along with other leaders and party workers, participated in the ‘Annadata Poru’, a rally against alleged black-marketing of fertilizers, at Trunk road in Ongole on Tuesday. He alleged that the coalition government had cheated the farmers and did not supply urea on time.

The rally was organised by YSRCP leaders in support of the farmers from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan to RDO office. Under the leadership of YSRCP Prakasam district president and Darsi MLA Buchepalli Sivaprasad Reddy, the party leaders and activists, along with several farmers, submitted a representation to the RDO.

Menawhile, District Collector A. Thameem Ansaria held a special meeting with fertilizer dealers in the district and made them aware of the importance of kharif season, availability of fertilizers, management of fertilizer shops, and the action to be taken under the Fertiliser (Control) Order, 1985 Act, in case of violation of rules.

“The State government is taking steps to provide quality fertilizers, especially urea, to the farmers on time at specified prices. The private dealers were asked to cooperate with the authorities by working as per the rules. There is no shortage of urea in the district. 70 per cent of urea will be made available to farmers through PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) and 30 per cent via dealers,” she said.
