Zinedine Zidane seems to be living his best post-football life — calm, content, and completely unbothered by the chaos of elite management.

Since stepping away from Real Madrid in 2021, the French icon has embraced the quiet lane, trading touchline tension for family time, charity events, and the occasional casual kickabout… where he still absolutely cooks anybody who dares defend him.

In a recent pickup game with a bunch of kids, Zidane reminded everyone that class is permanent.

The man didn’t dial it down even a little. He broke out the full nostalgia package: silky spins, elastic touches, those trademark feints that leave opponents staring at the grass, wondering what just happened. The kids were left gasping, but honestly — who among us wouldn’t be?

While he’s stayed away from the dugout for nearly four years, Zidane hasn’t exactly been short on job offers.

He famously turned down the chance to manage the United States at the 2022 World Cup, preferring patience over a quick return. And patience, it seems, is about to pay off.

Because Zidane isn’t done with coaching — far from it.

His next big job is reportedly already mapped out: he’s waiting for the France national team seat, expected to open once Didier Deschamps steps aside after the 2026 World Cup. In other words, Zizou is biding his time until the keys to Les Bleus are officially handed his way.

And the anticipation in France? Reports say his potential appointment is already “generating excitement," and that’s putting it lightly. Talk about a national hero who earned 108 caps, scored 31 goals, won the 1998 World Cup, and delivered generational moments every time the stakes were highest.

Zidane himself has teased a return “very soon," and when he finally steps back into the technical area, the football world will stop and watch — just like those kids who got spun into next week.
