11 injured as truck hits NWKRTC bus in Haveri

As many as 11 people, including two bus drivers and a conductor, have suffered injuries in an accident involving a public transport bus and a truck in Haveri district.

The accident occurred near Bankapur in Haveri district at 1 a.m. on Monday, when the truck rammed the NWKRTC bus proceeding to Bengaluru from Dandeli via Hubballi.

According to divisional controller H. Ramanagoudar, both the drivers of the NWKRTC bus T.M. Mundinamani and S.K. Badiger and the conductor, N.K. Hugar, and eight passengers have suffered injuries.

After initial treatment at Shiggaon Government Hospital, the drivers and the conductor were shifted to KMCRI Hospital in Hubballi.

Along with Mr. Ramanagoudar, Assistant Labour Welfare Officer Rajendra, Divisional Traffic Controller Y.M. Shivareddy visited the hospital and enquired about the health of the injured people.
