Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday spoke to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on phone and sought deployment of Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters to rescue nearly 30 persons stranded in flood-hit areas of Kamareddy and Rajanna Sircilla districts in Telangana.

Mr. Sanjay, the BJP MP from Karimnagar, apprised the Defence Minister about the flood situation in these districts following heavy rains in most parts of Telangana on Wednesday.

Responding to the request, the Defence Minister directed the officials concerned at Hakimpet Airforce Station to send IAF helicopters to the flood-affected areas to carry out rescue and relief operations, said a press release issued by the Karimnagar MP’s camp office here on Wednesday evening.
