2 arrested for threatening neighbor with gun over social media post in Karnataka

MADIKERI: Two people were arrested on charges of threatening to kill a person using a gun.Shashi and Anil from Nakur Shirangala near Suntikoppa were arrested for threatening to kill their neighbour Prasanna, according to the police.A social media post circulated that Shashi was raising pigs in his house and that the polluted water from it was flowing into the backwaters of the Harangi reservoir located a short distance away. Alleging that Prasanna gave this information, Shashi and Anil got into an argument with Prasanna and threatened to kill him using a gun, police said.Prasanna filed a complaint against Shashi and Anil at the Suntikoppa police station in this regard. The police registered a case and arrested both the accused. The gun was seized, and the accused were produced before a local court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
