2 youths stabbed during Muharram procession in H’bag, 2 held

Vishvendu Jaipuriar| TNNHazaribag: Two persons have been arrested for stabbing two youths late on Tuesday during a Muharram procession under Lohsinghna police station limits in Hazaribag district, police said on Wednesday.The injured, Bittu Kumar and Rohit Kumar, residents of Okni mohalla and aged 24, after preliminary treatment, were referred to Rims, Ranchi.The incident occurred when the duo was returning home in an e-rickshaw and encountered a Muharram procession on the road. According to preliminary information, the wheel of the vehicle allegedly ran over the foot of one of the accused during the passage of the procession, leading to a heated altercation.The situation escalated, with the accused allegedly pulling out a knife and attacking the two. One of the victims sustained injury to the abdomen. Hazaribag SP Aman Kumar said, “Both accused have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Further probe is on.” He however didn’t disclose their names.
