Chittoor police have recovered 315 lost or stolen mobile phones worth ₹63 lakh and handed them over to their owners as part of mobile recovery mela, on Tuesday (November 04).

Speaking at an event organised to hand over the mobiles to the complainants at the Police Guest House here on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi said the district police have recovered and handed over a total of 4,106 mobile phones worth ₹8.55 crore in 13 phases. The mobile phones were recovered from various parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharastra.

The SP said they have also recovered phones of complainants who did not belong to the district and the State and the mobiles would be sent to the owners through courier service. Mr. Tushar Dudi said any individual who loses his mobile need not visit a police station to lodge a FIR but can lodge a complaint with the click of a button through the Chat Bot or CEIR services.
