Ahead of the New Year, Bihar government elevated 43 IPS officers. Kundan Krishnan, currently on central deputation, is now a Director General of Police. One Inspector General was promoted to Additional Director General, while eight Deputy Inspectors General became Inspectors General.
Patna: The state govt promoted 43 IPS officers before the New Year. According to the notification issued by the home department on Tuesday, additional director general of police (headquarters), Kundan Krishnan (1994-batch) has been promoted to director general of police (DGP) rank.
He is currently on central deputation.While one IG rank officer has been elevated to ADG rank, eight DIGs have been promoted as IGs. Additionally, 22 senior police officers of the 2012-batch were promoted to DIG, and 12 junior administrative officers of the 2013-batch were promoted to the senior rank.The promotion will be effective from the date of assumption of charge on or after Jan 1, 2026.Shalin, (2001-batch), presently on central deputation, has been promoted from IG rank officer to ADG.The 2008-batch IPS officers—Manoj Kumar, Sanjay Kumar and Vivekananda—were promoted from DIG to IG. Five more officers from the same 2008-batch, who are on central deputation, received promotions to IG rank. These officers are Upendra Kumar Sharma, Satya Veer Singh, Vikash Burman, Kim, and Nitasha Gudiya.They have been asked to undergo mandatory training under Phase-4 of the Mid-Career Training Programme (MCTP).
According to the notification, 22 officers who were promoted to DIG, include Avakash Kumar, Anand Kumar, Kumar Ashish, Raviranjan Kumar, Deepak Ranjan, Inamul Haque Manganu, Aamir Javed, Ashok Kumar Singh, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Rajiv Ranjan-1, Rakesh Kumar Sinha, Ajay Kumar Pandey, Neeraj Kumar Singh, Sushant Kumar Saroj, Rajiv Ranjan-2, Raman Kumar Chaudhary, Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Shailesh Kumar Sinha, Satyanarayan Kumar, Ramashankar Rai, Sushil Kumar, and Dilnawaz Ahmed.IPS officers—Manish, Jagunath Reddy Jalareddy, Vishal Sharma, Upendra Nath Verma, Gaurav Mangala, D Amarkesh, Rakesh Kumar, Beena Kumari, Md Saifurrahman, Rajesh Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, and Ashok Kumar Prasad—were promoted to the senior rank.
