Jalen Brunson lit up Madison Square Garden with a season-high 47 points as the New York Knicks outgunned the Miami Heat 132-125 on Sunday night.

The Knicks’ star guard was unstoppable, adding eight assists and three rebounds in his most prolific scoring night ever at MSG.

Along the way, Brunson climbed into Knicks history, leapfrogging Latrell Sprewell to move 21st on the franchise’s all-time scoring list.

The milestones didn’t stop there.

Brunson became the first player this NBA season to post 40-plus points, five or more assists and zero turnovers, and also tied Bernard King for the most 45-point games in Knicks history — elite company by any standard.

Asked what clicked, Brunson summed it up with trademark bluntness.

The win marked New York’s eighth victory in nine games, pushing them to 20-8 and second in the Eastern Conference, behind only the Detroit Pistons. The surge comes hot on the heels of last week’s NBA Cup triumph, which ended a 52-year trophy drought for the franchise.

Miami, meanwhile, continue to spiral. Rookie Kel’el Ware impressed with 28 points and 19 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Heat from slumping to seven losses in their last eight games, dropping them to 15-14.

Elsewhere in the NBA

The Chicago Bulls edged the highest-scoring game of the season, surviving a late Atlanta rally to win 152-150. Jalen Johnson (36 points) and Trae Young (35) starred for the Hawks, but Matas Buzelis’ 28 points powered Chicago home.

In Washington, the San Antonio Spurs beat the Wizards 124-113, with Victor Wembanyama scoring 14 points off the bench as his minutes continue to be carefully managed following injury.

Big nights, bigger statements — and Brunson owned the spotlight.
