532 students felicitated at state-level Ramanujan talent search awards

Patna: The department of science, technology and technical education (DSTTE) on the occasion of National Mathematics Day on Monday organised a state-level felicitation ceremony for the meritorious students who qualified in the Srinivasa Ramanujan Talent Search Test in Mathematics-2025.The felicitation ceremony was held at Gyan Bhavan to commemorate the birth anniversary of great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Science, technology and technical education minister, Sunil Kumar, was the chief guest on the occasion.On this occasion, a total of 532 students from Classes 6 to 12, who secured first and second positions at the district level and first, second, and third positions at the state level in the test, were present.

Twenty-one state-level toppers were awarded laptops, certificates, and mementoes.Welcoming the gathering, DSTTE secretary, Pratima, extended her greetings to the minister, noting that it was his first major event after assuming charge of the department. She also welcomed the winners and their parents.Extending congratulations to the winners, Pratima said, “Ramanujan, despite limited means, made extraordinary contributions to mathematics.

His life reminds us that challenges can never suppress true talent. He continues to inspire generations of students, teaching us that curiosity and dedication can transform the impossible into possible.”She further said that the DSTTE’s vision is not only to ensure academic excellence but also to empower students in line with the changing dimensions of technical education. She highlighted that the appointment of the BPSC qualified faculties in engineering and polytechnic institutions has significantly enhanced the quality of education.In addition, several industry-tailored emerging courses such as leather technology, food processing, and AI-integrated programmes have been introduced. She emphasised that the department is committed to the holistic development of students, with initiatives including health sub-centres, clinical psychologists for mental well-being, foreign language programmes in Japanese, French, and German, the Centres of Excellence in polytechnics, state-of-the-art laboratories, smart classrooms, open gyms, and sports grounds.

These efforts, she noted, aim to ensure the comprehensive and balanced growth of students.
