7-year-old crushed to death as metal gate falls on him in Dundigal

A seven-year-old boy died after a metal gate collapsed on him at a newly constructed building in Barampet village in Dundigal on Thursday (November 14, 2025) morning.

The victim, identified as D. Naveen, a resident of Veldurthi in Medak district, was playing near the entrance around 11.30 a.m. when the gate suddenly gave way and fell, killing him on the spot.

Police said the boy’s grandfather worked as a security guard at the building and had taken him along when the accident occurred. The body was later shifted for postmortem examination. The Dundigal police registered a case against the building owner for negligence. Police said further investigation is underway.
