India’s Minister of Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, visited the Indian Bazar at Al Suwaidi Park on Sunday as part of the ongoing India Week celebrations, held under Saudi Arabia’s Global Harmony Initiative led by the Ministry of Media.During the visit, Shekhawat met with Abdulatif bin Mohammed Alabdullatif, CEO of the General Authority of Media Regulation, and Sarry Shaaban from the General Entertainment Authority, to discuss opportunities for cultural collaboration and the strengthening of bilateral ties between India and Saudi Arabia.The Minister toured the vibrant Indian Bazaar, which highlights India’s diverse heritage through traditional crafts, regional cuisines, and live performances.
He also interacted with artisans showcasing their work. In a symbolic gesture promoting sustainability, Shekhawat planted a sapling at Al Suwaidi Park - reaffirming the shared commitment of both nations to a greener, more sustainable future.Organised by the Ministry of Media and the General Entertainment Authority, India Week is part of Riyadh Season 2025 and the Quality-of-Life Program supporting Vision 2030. Running through November 10, 2025, the festival celebrates India’s cultural heritage and contemporary creativity through music, dance, food, and art - bringing communities together in a spirit of harmony and global unity.
