Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday said his government had fulfilled nearly 70% of the promises made in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) manifesto for the Assembly election during the last two years. Rajasthan had also occupied first rank in the implementation of 11 Central schemes, Mr. Sharma said.

The Chief Minister distributed ₹10.79 crore funds to 333 selected start-ups, flagged off 50 ‘Vikas Raths’ (development chariots), and released a book on the achievements on the completion of two years of his government.

At a press briefing, Mr. Sharma said the BJP government had established new standards of good governance, transparency, public welfare and development. “We have implemented 73% of the budgetary announcements… In the coming years, our commitment will continue unwaveringly for all-round development of the State, fulfilment of the people’s aspirations, and the creation of a prosperous Rajasthan,” Mr. Sharma said.

The Chief Minister said his government had taken strong action against corruption and competitive exam paper leaks, while making sincere efforts for securing the future of the youth. “We have caught big players, who have been jailed and are facing punishment. We will not spare those who have usurped the rights of people,” he said.

At an ‘innovation day start-up conclave’, Mr. Sharma said his government would position Rajasthan as a global leader in technology and innovation. More than 7,200 start-ups had been registered under the State’s i-Start initiative, attracting investments of over ₹1,000 crore and generating more than 42,500 jobs, he said.

The ‘Vikas Raths’, flagged off at the State Institute of Public Administration here, will travel to far-off areas in all Assembly segments and connect the people with the State government’s welfare schemes, besides carrying the message of policy reforms, achievements and the resolve for growth.
