The Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) arrested five accused and rescued three victims during a week-long special drive conducted between October 26 and 31.

The unit also apprehended nine transgenders during night raids carried out as part of operations under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA).

In parallel efforts, the Cyberabad She Teams conducted 142 decoy operations and held 76 individuals for indulging in indecent acts in public places.

Petty cases were booked in 51 instances, while the remaining offenders were counselled. The She Teams also received 17 complaints from women victims through various modes during the week.

Meanwhile, efforts to resolve family disputes led to the reunion of 29 couples through the Family Counselling Centres and the Centre for Development and Empowerment of Women (CDEW) under the Women and Child Safety Wing.

As part of preventive and awareness initiatives, both AHTU and She Teams organised programmes across several locations in Cyberabad, reaching around 223 participants.

The sessions focused on issues such as human and child trafficking, eve teasing, social media harassment, child marriages, child labour, stalking, begging, cyber bullying, and online frauds. Awareness was also raised on emergency and helpline numbers, including women helpline 181, child helpline 1098, and the cyber crimes helpline 1930.
