A month after fire incident, ICUs in Thiruvananthapuram MCH to open next week

The surgical and trauma intensive care units (ICUs) in the multispeciality block at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, which have remained in disuse for the past one month after a fire broke out in the surgical ICU, will be opened next week.

Following the incident at the multispeciality block on March 17, both ICUs were shut down for repair and refurbishing. Patients requiring ICU care after surgeries have since been accommodated in temporary ICUs set up on another floor, with cloth screens separating the area.
