Aamir Khan reveals he tried to tell Aditya Chopra and Vijay Krishna Acharya that 'Thugs of Hindostan' would be a failure: 'There were creative differences'

Aamir Khan faced a rare setback in 2018 with 'Thugs of Hindostan', as the movie failed to meet expectations from both critics and at the box office. The film, starring Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Aamir himself, did not make an impression on the audience, despite its star-studded line-up.

He admitted that he himself did not like the film. “Now, enough years have passed and I really respect Adi (Aditya Chopra) and Victor (Vijay Krishna Acharya), but sometimes there are creative differences. When the film was made, Adi and Victor really liked it — the way it was made — but I didn’t like it at all.

I felt that structurally, we went wrong with the writing, and I tried to tell them about it, but they were confident that the film was good,” Aamir shared.Aamir Khan has made efforts to make the movie betterAamir also said that he was not anxious about the film, as he already knew it would not work. He shared his feelings with his ex-wife-turned-director Kiran Rao at the time. “I believe if I don’t like it, why should I expect the audience to like it?” he told her then.

He tried to convince the team for nearly eight months and ultimately stepped back when they decided to make no changes.
