As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepare for the 2025 NFL season, internal frustration is reportedly building over ongoing rumors linking veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the franchise.

With uncertainty looming over the team’s quarterback situation, several Steelers players are reportedly “sick of hearing” about Rodgers, highlighting growing tension within the locker room.

Team chemistry at risk as QB drama lingers

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero offered insight into the growing frustration during a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. He revealed that despite signs pointing to Aaron Rodgers joining the Steelers, the quarterback has yet to make any formal commitment, leaving the team eager for clarity.“I have been told that he has not affirmatively told the Steelers that he’s coming. So, there are all these signs that he’s coming, but he has not affirmatively said, ‘Hey, June 9 — book me a ticket, I’m coming in and I’m going to join this team.’”Pelissero added, “They just wanna know what’s going on. And they’re sick of hearing about it, and they’re sick of being asked about it. They don’t want to discuss it anymore.”

Aaron Rodgers MVP legacy offers no certainty

Despite Aaron Rodgers’ legendary resume, including four MVPs and a Super Bowl title, the 41-year-old’s name continues to swirl around Pittsburgh amid speculation about a potential comeback and trade.

However, the lack of clarity around his future is not sitting well with players eager to focus on football and move forward with a defined plan at quarterback.

While the front office and head coach Mike Tomlin are believed to still be considering options under center, the prolonged Rodgers saga is beginning to wear thin. Veteran leaders have hinted at the need to move on and establish chemistry with the current roster instead of waiting on a decision that may never come. Also read: Why the NFL’s Olympic flag football plan could be a national embarrassmentAs training camp approaches, the Steelers must decide whether to keep the door open for Rodgers or fully commit to their current quarterback room.
