NBC Sports' Michael David Smith reports that only four quarterbacks in NFL history have wins over all 32 teams. Now, Pittsburgh Steelers veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers can become the fifth if his team beats the Green Bay Packers in the upcoming Sunday Night Football matchup at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
The first four are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Brett Favre.
This sets the stage for two things in the SNF game—a history-creating moment and a reunion with a former franchise. The reporter also mentioned a few other elites who’ve almost made history but missed an opportunity, like Rodgers.
Ben Roethlisberger, Patrick Mahomes, Alex Smith, Russell Wilson, Matthew Stafford, and Kerry Collins have all come close to making history
- Ben Roethlisberger—beat 31 teams except for the one he played for—the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- Patrick Mahomes has beaten 31 teams except for the one he plays for—the Kansas City Chiefs.
- Alex Smith—beat 31 teams except for the one he played for long-term—the Kansas City Chiefs.
- Russell Wilson has beaten 31 teams except for the one he played for long-time—the Seattle Seahawks.
- Matthew Stafford has beaten 31 teams, just not the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- Kerry Collins—beat 31 NFL teams except the Miami Dolphins.
Now, let’s go back to the legendary NFL players who have beaten all 32 teams
Brady played for only two teams, the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but defeated all 32 NFL teams during his 23-season career.
He appeared in over 335 regular-season games and 48 playoff games, totaling 383 NFL games. Out of the 383 games, Brady has won over 286 games. Win percentage of 74.67.
Manning also played for two teams, the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, but beat all 32 NFL teams during his 18-season career. He played a total of 266 games, including 27 playoff appearances. Out of the 266 games, Manning won over 187 games. Win percentage stands at 70.30.
Like Brady and Manning, Brees also played for two teams, the San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints, but managed to defeat all 32 NFL teams in a career spanning over 20 seasons. He played in 287 NFL games, including 18 playoff games. He won 172 games out of the total 287. Win percentage comes down to 59.93.
Favre played for four teams: the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, and Minnesota Vikings, but thoroughly defeated all 32 teams during his 20-year career. He appeared in 302 NFL games, including 24 playoff games. He won over 186 games out of the total 302. His win percentage: 61.58.
