Abrar Qazi to play the male lead in Siddharttha Vankar’s next show?

Three months after his last show Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad wrapped up in September, actor Abrar Qazi appears to have found his next big project. He has been approached to play the male lead in Siddharttha Vankar’s upcoming television drama, produced by Aman Sachdeva, which is said to be a love story.

Sources reveal that the actor, best known for his portrayal of Rudraksh Khurana in Yeh Hai Chahatein, is in advanced talks with the makers, and a formal contract is likely to be signed soon. A source associated with the project shares, “We are keen on having Abrar Qazi on board as the male lead, as he fits the role perfectly. Doree 2 actress Priyanshi Yadav has been finalised as the female protagonist. The show will also feature Roopa Divetia and Pyomori Mehta Ghosh in key roles.

This is a grand love saga coming the audience’s way.”In a previous chat with us, Abrar, who made his acting debut with the film Laila Majnu, spoke about his decision to venture into television. He shared, “Laila Majnu did not help my career at the time, but after it was re-released last year, people appreciated my work. I have been getting good film offers for the past year, but whenever you audition for films or web projects, it becomes a matter of patience.

You have to wait until you get shortlisted, and even after months of waiting to be finalised, sometimes things still don’t work out.

In the meantime, you lose out on good projects in other mediums. TV is a mass medium and it is lucrative. The content might need improvement, but I want to continue doing TV shows along with web series and films.” Writer and showrunner Siddharttha Vankar, known for his creative vision, has previously worked on popular shows like Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (Season 1) and Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. He is currently helming the second edition of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
