Haryanvi singer claims Bhojpuri actor touched her 'inappropriately' during Lucknow promo; vows to quit industry

A Haryanvi actor-singer has accused a Bhojpuri actor-singer of inappropriate touching during a promotional event in Lucknow. She shared her experience on Instagram, expressing anger and humiliation, and stated she will not work in the Bhojpuri industry again.

LUCKNOW: A popular Haryanvi actor-singer has accused a noted Bhojpuri actor-singer of inappropriately touching her during a promotional event in Lucknow on Aug 27.The incident occurred during the launch of their new song. Breaking her silence, the woman posted two videos on Instagram on Saturday. She hit back at trolls who accused her of "enjoying" the moment by saying: "Do you think I would feel happy or enjoy being touched like that in front of everyone?" "That's when I felt angry, humiliated, and even felt like crying. But I stayed quiet because everyone present was his fan, calling him 'God'," she said. She further alleged that her attempts to reach out to the accused singer's team after the video of the incident went viral were ignored.

"I was advised not to respond to trolls because his PR machinery is strong and it could backfire on me. But I cannot support any man touching a girl without permission," she said, before declaring: "I will not work in the Bhojpuri industry again. I am happy with my family and in Haryana."The manager of the accused dismissed the allegations as a "misunderstanding" and hinted at a smear campaign by industry rivals. We will resolve the matter, he said.

National president of Akhil Bharatiya Bhojpuri Samaj, Prabhu Nath Rai, said such incidents tarnish the Bhojpuri community's image. He urged prominent figures to act responsibly, reminding that the community has worked for decades to bring respect to Bhojpuri art and culture.Police said no complaint has been filed. "As and when a complaint is received, action will be taken as per law," said DCP (South Zone) Nipun Agarwal.
