'Action Hero Biju 2' row: Nivin Pauly alleges signature forgery; Producer Shamnaz calls the complaint fake

The much-awaited sequel 'Action Hero Biju 2' has now found itself entangled in a legal feud, with actor Nivin Pauly and producer P.S. Shamnaz trading serious allegations.Nivin recently lodged a complaint claiming that forged documents were used to claim the film’s rights, accusing Shamnaz of submitting a fake contract to the Kerala Film Chamber.According to Nivin, a legitimate contract already exists, signed by him, director Abrid Shine, and Shamnaz, which clearly states that all rights belong to his own banner, Pauly Jr. Pictures. He also alleges that a conspiracy is underway to publicly discredit and threaten him.

Producer hits back, denies forgery allegation

Shamnaz denied all claims, saying Nivin’s complaint was a direct response to a cheating case he had earlier filed against the actor and director Abrid Shine.

“This isn’t about forgery. This is retaliation,” said Shamnaz in a statement to Mathrubhumi.com.He explained that the rights originally belonged to one Shibu Thekkumpuram and were legally transferred through proper channels — from director Abrid Shine Productions to his own company, Indian Movie Makers. According to him, all documentation was submitted to the Kerala Film Chamber, which registered the title in his name.

He emphasized that no letter from Nivin or Pauly Jr. Pictures was needed for title registration.

Two cases, one film, many questions

Producer Shamnaz further revealed that the only paperwork expected from Nivin was a letter agreeing to act in the project — which, he claims, the actor had already submitted.Shooting for the film under Indian Movie Makers reportedly began on April 14, with Nivin in the lead. The producer also filed a police case under non-bailable sections, accusing Nivin Pauly and Abrid Shine of taking money despite allegedly selling the film’s distribution rights elsewhere. The police have now reportedly issued summons to both.
