Actor Mohanlal to be conferred Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2023

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced on Saturday (September 20, 2025) that Malayalam actor Mohanlal will be conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023.

The MIB Ministry has said in a post on ‘X’ that, “The legendary actor, director, and producer is being honoured for his iconic contribution to Indian Cinema”.

The Ministry has stated that the award will be presented at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony on Tuesday (September 23, 2025.)

Born on May 21, 1960, Mohanlal has had an illustrious film career spanning over four decades, featuring in more than 400 films across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.

A five-time National Award winner and recipient of several state honours, Mohanlal was conferred the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2019.
