A sensational murder case has come to light in Telangana’s Gangapur, where a 42-year-old man, Muthyam Reddy, was allegedly murdered by his wife and her lover, who then secretly buried his body in an agricultural field.

According to the police, Reddy had been married to Kalpana for 12 years, and the couple had two children. However, the peace was disrupted three months ago when Kalpana allegedly developed an extramarital affair with Gaini Pandari, a resident of nearby Elgoyi village. Frequent disputes erupted between the couple after Muthyam Reddy discovered the relationship.

Viewing him as an obstacle, Kalpana and Pandari reportedly hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him. The accused allegedly murdered Muthyam Reddy and used a JCB machine to dig a pit in an agricultural field on the village outskirts, where they buried the body. To avoid suspicion and erase evidence, they covered the burial site with soil and stones.

In an attempt to mislead investigators, Kalpana lodged a missing person complaint at the Khed Police Station on May 18, claiming her husband was untraceable. However, during the investigation, the police grew suspicious of her behavior. A detailed examination of her call data records exposed frequent communication between Kalpana and Pandari.

Based on this digital footprint, the police detained Pandari for questioning. According to senior cop Venkata Reddy, Pandari confessed to the crime during interrogation. Following the confession, police officials, alongside the local administrative officials, initiated legal procedures.

Arrangements are currently underway to exhume the body for a postmortem examination. Officials added that further investigation is actively ongoing to determine if any other accomplices were involved in the murder conspiracy.
