After the high-stakes Alaska summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he held a “long and substantive conversation" with the US president on the recent developments.
Zelenskyy said the discussion began as a one-on-one exchange before European leaders were invited to join. The call, according to him, lasted more than 90 minutes, with about an hour dedicated solely to bilateral talks with Trump.
“Ukraine reaffirms its readiness to work with maximum effort to achieve peace. President Trump informed about his meeting with the Russian leader and the main points of their discussion. It is important that America’s strength has an impact on the development of the situation."
