Agartala: Members of the Sanatan Hindu Sena protested on Saturday in front of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala, accusing Bangladesh of persecuting minorities.The demonstration took place a day after Tipra Motha’s Youth Tipra Federation (YTF) staged a demonstration outside the same office, protesting against alleged anti-India comments made by a Bangladeshi leader.,The demonstration created a tense atmosphere in the area, leading to a heavy deployment of police and paramilitary personnel to maintain order.Protesters demanded immediate action from the international community and humabright bodies on the murder of a minority youth, Dipu Chandra Das, in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh district.The organisation stated that the protest aimed to condemn the incident and highlight what it called the increasing insecurity faced by minorities in the neighbouring country.Demands were made for the Bangladesh govt to take immediate and decisive measures to protect minority communities. The protesters also warned that failure to act would result in an escalation of their agitation in the near future.Although tensions ran high, the protest concluded without any untoward incidents, with security forces maintaining vigilance throughout the demonstration.
