The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Employees Union (A.P.–AITUC) submitted a representation to former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy against the State government’s recent move to privatise tourism properties, at YSRCP central office in Tadepallion Tuesday (September 09, 2025).

The employees voiced strong objections to G.O. No. 23 which proposes handing over 22 hotels and resorts of the Tourism Development Corporation to private operators. The delegation pointed out that the Corporation currently employs nearly 504 contract workers and 488 outsourcing staff, many of whom have been serving for over two decades. The delegation said that the decision would jeopardise job security, disrupt livelihoods, and leave hundreds of families in distress.

Responding to their appeal, Mr. Jagan assured the workers of YSRCP’s full support. He emphasised that his party stands firmly with the contract and outsourcing of employees of the Tourism Department and pledged to examine the issue carefully to ensure justice for the workforce.
