Already facing ED heat over suspected terror funding, the Al Falah University in Faridabad – caught at the centre of the investigation into the Delhi Red Fort blast case – is now looking at impending action from the National Medical Commission.

According to top sources in the National Medical Commission (NMC), action will be taken against Al Falah University on charges of harbouring doctors accused of carrying out the high-intensity blast near Red Fort Metro, which claimed 12 lives, and “anti-India" activities.

The sources said the NMC is awaiting a factual report from the investigation agencies before initiating any action, which can vary from restrictions in or removal of its status as a medical college. This action will be in accordance with the statutory scheme, they said. It is waiting for inputs from the probe agencies before initiating any action, they added.
