Amara Raja Group, a $2 billion global conglomerate with presence in varied industries, celebrated its 40th foundation day in Tirupati, on Saturday. The group, which came into existence in 1985 as Amara Raja Power Systems has now transformed itself with six companies, 17 businesses and more than 21,000 employees.

As part of the foundation day celebrations, the group announced the winners of the Amara Raja Better Way Awards to take forward its legacy of providing better access to better opportunities. At the event, three rural entrepreneurs were selected and given ₹3 lakh cash prize along with one-year-long support.

“This year’s theme, ‘Forever Through Time’, is a true reflection of our resilient and agile story. It is not only about celebrating the milestones, but also looking ahead even as the world is changing faster than ever before. In the last 40 years, we have redefined the industries that we operate in and are marching ahead with greater success,” said Jayadev Galla, chairperson of Amara Raja Group.

Amara Raja’s founder-chairperson Ramachandra Naidu Galla, co-founders Galla Aruna Kumari, Ramadevi Gourineni, Amara Raja excutive directors Harshavardhan Gourineni, Vikramadithya Gourineni, and the top leadership from the group including chief operating officer Narasimhulu Naidu participated in the celebrations.
