Andhra Pradesh explosion: Death toll rises to 22, several critical

VETLAPALEM: The death toll in the cracker unit blast in Kakinada district has risen to 22, a district official said on Monday. "One person died on Sunday night at 9 pm. Death toll rose to 22," Kakinada District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) J Narasimha Nayak said. Earlier, 20 people, including nine women, were killed and nine others critically injured in a powerful explosion at a licensed crackers manufacturing unit in the village on February 28. The official said four to five injured persons remain in critical condition, some of them suffering up to 90 per cent burns.
